Mobius Trio in Brazil
Mobius Trio, dubbed by guitarist Sergio Assad as “the most inventive and exciting young guitar ensemble today,” has just completed a tour of Brazil! As artistic ambassadors under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, they participated in a variety of cultural exchange activities and performed with Brazilian musicians at institutions like the esteemed Amazonas Theatre, Universidade de Brasília, and the Binational Center Casa Thomas Jefferson. They forged long-term partnerships for future explorations and cross-cultural dialogue throughout their two-week-long musical voyage.
Listen to a snippet the U.S. Embassy in Brazil posted of the Trio backstage at the Teatro Amazonas, and watch a video clip from Amazonas TV! Follow their journey on Facebook in this album of concert and personal photos (including a sloth and a pink dolphin!).
Later this summer they’ll be performing a concert of acoustic and electric guitar trios at The Chautauqua Institution.
