The Armida Quartet celebrates its ten year anniversary in 2016 with the launch of the first CD in their ambitious Mozart cycle, as well as their “Mozart Exploded” series in which they plan to perform all 26 of Mozart’s string quartets in concert.
True to form, the Armidas are not presenting the Mozart string quartets in chronological order. Instead, they offer a deeper understanding of Mozart, juxtaposing the works of the wunderkind alongside the works of the mature composer.
Watch the Armida Quartet in action, performing Mozart’s String Quartet No. 1 in G major, K. 80 in a “Mozart Exploded” concert this past March.
“Magic is an art that the Armida Quartet has mastered.”
