“Alluring” and “enigmatic” violinist Rachel Lee Priday will showcase her formidable talent this week when she performs the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra in Colorado. Here’s a live recording of Lee Priday playing the same work in New York last year.

Before embarking on the Colorado tour – which includes recitals and outreach performances – Lee Priday performed a rousing “Fiddler OFF the Roof” chamber program at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts and a solo recital with Lyrica Chamber Music. Later in March, Priday rejoins her “Fiddler” collaborators at Close Encounters With Music in Great Barrington, MA for a thrilling all-Beethoven concert.

Lee Priday, cellist Benedict Kloeckner and pianist Andrew Armstrong have formed the Priday-Kloeckner-Armstrong Trio. With repertoire from Mozart to Rihm, the dynamic Trio brings a fine-tuned sense of collaboration and musicality to their programs.

Lee Priday and composer Scott Wollschleger have partnered for an exciting new musical venture; the creation of a new, musically theatrical Violin Concerto: It is only for those without hope that hope is given. The concerto is community-building in nature, and will pair a professional ensemble with a string orchestra of flexible age and skill to join the lead performers to create an imaginative sonic story and dramatic visual scene. Metropolis Ensemble, led by Andrew Cyr, will partner with The String Orchestra of Brooklyn to present the work’s premiere in New York City in the spring of 2019.
