Violinist Francesca Anderegg is regarded for her elegant and impassioned performance style, and the New York Times has praised her “rich tone” and “virtuosic panache.” Today, Anderegg’s penchant for musical exploration defines her latest album release and tour, a new project linking Latin American literature and music in Letras Sonoras, and new recital programs.

Anderegg — along with collaborator, pianist Brent Funderburk — takes a sonic road trip across the U.S. in her latest album, Wild Cities, from New Focus Recordings. The duo will start performing Wild Cities live across the country starting on Monday as part of an exclusive CD tour. Filled with yearning melodies, optimism, and possibility, the album features new works by five young composers, and celebrates the collaboration between musician and composer. Wild Cities was premiered at National Sawdust in July, and has been selected as a standout album by NewMusicBoxQ2 Music, and Second Inversion.

Anderegg and Venezuelan-American composer and husband Reinaldo Moya unveil a compelling new project linking Latin American literature and music in their new collaboration Letras Sonoras (Sound Letters). The inventive project is a seamless evening-length performance with literature excerpts read in both Spanish and English which link contemporary Latin American music with spoken word. Literature comes to life through sound.

In addition to touring Wild Cities, Anderegg is also making her Peoria Symphony Orchestra debut in two programs: ”Bach’s Legacy” at WTVP Studios, and as soloist and Guest Concertmaster with the Peoria Symphony.

Anderegg and Brazilian pianist Erika Ribeiro just recorded their new project, Tour of Brazil, a musical journey which presents Brazil in all of its geographic, cultural, and musical diversity. Tour of Brazil blends all-Brazilian music with gorgeous projected photography of the diverse landscapes and peoples of Brazil. This project is now available for booking and will soon include an album release to anchor a tour!
