Dubbed “technically superb” by The Strad, the Tesla Quartet is in the midst of recording their debut album featuring Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 54, No. 2; Ravel’s String Quartet in F major; Stravinsky’s Concertino; and Tesla violinist Ross Snyder’s arrangements of selected Menuets by Ravel. Grammy Award-winning producer Andrew Keener and sound engineer Simon Eadon are hard at work on the record, which will be released this fall. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes video recorded by cellist Serafim Smigelskiy.Tesla is wrapping up a year-long residency as the Bell Quartet in Residence at Mount Allison University where they have been featured in performances, presented master classes, and coached student chamber ensembles. They also spent their second season as the quartet-in-residence with the Western Piedmont Symphony and look forward to beginning their third year in residence there this fall!

Looking forward, the Tesla Quartet will perform Haydn, Janáček, and Schumann with piano collaborator David Kaplan on the UCLA Chamber Music at The Clark series. They will embark on a European tour this fall, starting with a performance at the Haydn String Quartet Festival at Esterházy Castle in Hungary. Tesla also selected the winner of their Call for Scores 2016 – composer Christopher Adler.
